Women’s Programme

The Freedom Programme

None of this is your fault, You are not to blame
He was abusive before you met him, Controlling women is his game

We run three programmes per week in

Atherton, Mondays 10am-12pm

Leigh, Fridays 10am-12pm

Wigan,Thursdays 10am-12pm

All programmes are free to attend

The 11 week programme is open to women 16+ who want to learn more about the reality of domestic violence and abuse in relationships. Each session runs for 2 hours per week and explores the abusive tactics, controlling behaviours and belief systems of the dominator and the effects on our health and well-being

As it is a rolling programme you can start the programme at any point and can catch up on any missed sessions when they are repeated.

We understand how hard it can be to attend a programme for the first time which is why we can arrange to meet you beforehand to explain the programme and answer any questions you may have.

PLEASE NOTE – YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TALK ABOUT YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE DURING SESSIONS

All women are actively welcomed to the Freedom Programme. We never give advice or tell a woman that she should leave. If it were that easy, she would have already left. Judgemental statements such as ‘I would never let anyone do that to me’ or ‘this has never happened to me’ is simply not acceptable.

Facilitators refer to all women as ‘us’ and would never use the dreaded words ‘these women’.

These programmes are only for the women who attend them, observers are not endorsed.

You can stop and start the programme whenever you want and if you come once and decide it’s not for you then that is entirely up to you. You will be welcomed back at any time and will not be questioned why you haven’t been.

Some women complete it in one programme whilst some women dip in and out and have taken a year to complete it fully.

Either way you will be welcomed back at any point
